To tap the enormous potential of this grape variety, consequent attention in the vineyard along with strongly reduced yield and a top location are necessary. In the high-lying hamlet of Penon from 450 to 700 m a.s.l., yield is inherently lower. The elevation and the porous dolomite soil result in an elegant, structured wine. Owing to the lengthy period of ripening, PENON develops a meaty mineral structure in addition to its dense body and invigorating acidity. The bouquet is highly complex and reminiscent of yellow peaches, old pear varieties and cantaloupe. A wine that shows what Pinot grigio can be.
Pinot Grigio has been grown in Trentino for many decades, because here, at the foot of the Dolomites, this grape variety is fully able to express its character. Pinot Grigio has found the ideal environment conditions in the foothills and valley vineyards of Lavis, on the sandy-loam soil originated from the deposits of the Avisio stream and the alluvial sediments of the Adige river. The Rosé version brings back the aromatic integrity of the grapes, thanks to a short maceration period on the grape skins. This process allows the wine to be enriched with luminous coppery reflections and with more intense aromas, which contribute to the richness of this wine. Pinot Grigio Rosé Classici is a delicate pale rose-pink colour, with bright coppery nuances, elegant floral aromas and hints hints of whitepulp fruit. Its tasting notes are well able to express the delicate nature of this refreshing wine through the perfect balance between acidity and body and its enveloping, rich and persistent aromas.

One part of the grapes was pressed immediately after their arrival at the estate, another part was kept on the skins for 15 hours and the third part was in contact with stems and skins for about one year. LÖSS 100% PINOT GRIGIO ALTO ADIGE DOC THE POWERFUL ONE Life for Löss is truly not so easy: its vines have to sink their roots particularly deep, as it grows where the slope suddenly drops 120 metres from the Paulsner Feld steeply down into the Warth Valley. The Pinot Grigio thus draws all the more strength from the intense sunlight and the mineral-rich loess soil. The steep slope is a major challenge for vines and winegrowers alike – making them equally strong, enduring and resilient.
