Nose

FRAUENHÜGEL has an abundance of seductive fruit such as forest berries and elderberries, black cherries and cocoa beans.

Palate

The wine is enriched by balsamic tannins through ageing in barrique barrels. Noble roast aromas and vivid acidity are harmoniously interconnected with the powerfully fruity body. The loamy soil is responsible for its typical terroir characteristics which give the fruity finish savory spiciness (licorice) and an individual earthy note.

Growing Conditions

300-350 m a.sl., south - east, steep slope; Warm microclimate, great temperature difference; Red sandy-loamy soil with clay minerals.

Harvest

The grapes are harvested by hand.

Winemaking

Controlled temperature fermentation in rotary tanks and ageing in French barriques for 12 months, followed by ageing in large oak barrels.
