Growing Conditions
The selected grapes used for this wine come from the 22,500 m² Stroblhof vineyard, a south-east facing plot situated 500 metres above sea level in the area of Appiano/Eppan. Of this vintage, only the best grapes from old vines were vinified as Riserva.
Winemaking
Maceration and fermentation in 30 and 40 hl oak vats lasted 23 days, with three daily rotations in the first week.
Aging
Twelve months of ageing in partly new, partly 1 and 2-year-old French oak barrels.
Then 8 months of ageing in large oak barrels and more than two years of bottle ageing.
