The low-energy building brings the philosophies of practicality and environmental sustainability together in the most innovative of ways.

The finest sites of the Cantina Bolzano are as varied as the land itself: 340 hectares of the best Bolzano vineyards are located at 200 to 1,000 metres above sea level.

The grapes for this “Collection” line wine are grown on the best sites for the variety. The vines grow at the heart of the Lagrein DOC area and produce a dense, garnet red, well-structured wine.

The grapes ripen in the heart of the Santa Maddalena zone, on slopes between 250 and 500 meters above sea level. They produce a medium- strength red wine with fruity and floral notes that goes well with many regional dishes and Italian cuisine.

The grapes for this “Collection” line wine are grown on the best sites for the variety. The selected grapes produce a mature, full-bodied, elegant and long-lived wine.

White

This wine is the product of an ideal combination of grape variety, soil and microclimate. Selected grapes from the best sites produce expressive, authentic and complex wines. The Chardonnay Kleinstein presents rich concentrated fruit, a pleasant opulence and well balanced acidity.

Originating from France, Chardonnay has been cultivated in Alto Adige for more than a hundred years. This variety thrives on warm sites at higher elevations around Bolzano and produces an elegant wine with well-balanced acidity and a bouquet of exotic notes.

This wine is the product of an ideal combination of grape variety, soil and microclimate. Selected grapes from the best sites produce expressive, authentic and complex wines.

The Lagrein Perl is a multifaceted wine, intensive on the nose and harmonious on the palate. With its full color and fruity aromas, its complexity and soft tannins, the Lagrein Perl is an ideal companion to substantial meat dishes.

The vines grow on the slopes of the Santa Maddalena zone above Bolzano at 200 - 300 meters above sea-level. The Moar Santa Maddalena is the product of a unique combination of site, old vines and husbandry. It combines fruity and floral aromas with a full and velvety taste. On the nose the wine presents cherry, marzipan and violet notes, which are typical of the Santa Maddalena.

The steep slopes on the Renon above Bolzano offer ideal conditions for producing a Sauvignon with unique fruit, minerality, elegance and depth.

The vineyards for this rich yet elegant Chardonnay are located on the stony porphyry slopes above Bolzano. This very special wine combines harmony and a well balanced acidity wth outstanding aging potential.

Müller Thurgau, a popular variety named after Hermann Mülller as the man who produced the hybrid, yields fresh and aromatic wines with a pleasant lively opulence.

This rosé is a fresh and fruity summer wine that is served lightly chilled as an aperitif or with starters.

Moscato Giallo, or Goldmuskateller, has a typical nutmeg aroma, in this case paired with a light note of honeydew melon. A hint of residual sugar makes the wine deliciously smooth.

The hill of Santa Maddalena to the north of Bolzano gives this classic Alto Adige wine its name. Schiava and Lagrein grow together in the vineyard.

Pinot Nero, or Pinot Noir in French, originates from Burgundy and has been cultivated in Alto Adige for more than a century. The grapes for this Pinot Nero grow on selected sites on the slopes of the Renon in the Bolzano area.

Merlot, one of the noble grape varieties, has been cultivated in Alto Adige for more than a hundred years. The grapes for this fruity and zesty wine, with its typical light vegetal notes, are harvested from selected vineyards.

Traminer was a familiar wine in German-speaking areas as far back as the 13th century. Today this aromatic wine is one of the most popular in Alto Adige. As the name indicates, the Gewürztraminer originates from the Alto Adige village of Termeno (Tramin in German). The grapes, which are harvested from selected sites, produce a wine that is intensely fruity and full-flavored with a zesty opulence.

Pinot Grigio is one of Italy’s most prominent and also most noble white wines. In the subalpine climate of Alto Adige, the Pinot Grigio can develop its smoky aroma, powerful structure and its typical character and charm.

The sun-blessed site in Settequerce (Siebeneich) near Bolzano offers ideal conditions for this Merlot Riserva. The warm fertile soils developed on alluvial deposits of the Adige produce a fruity, concentrated wine with good aging potential.

The Cabernet Mumelter is a typical Cabernet Riserva. This cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc blends the characteristics of the two grape varieties to create a full-bodied, elegant and harmonious wine with concentrated fruit.

Moscato Giallo or Goldmuskateller is an aromatic grape variety that has been cultivated in Alto Adige for centuries. Unlike the more usual sweet version, this Moscato Giallo is a dry wine.

Kerner is a hybrid of Schiava Grossa and Riesling which was first cultivated in Weinsberg, Germany around 1930. The variety does best on very light, gravelly and sandy soils at higher elevations of the middle reaches of the Isarco Valley, which is a very sunny location.

Alto Adige has been home to Silvaner for more than 200 years. The vines grow mainly on warm, well ventilated sites as found in the Isarco Valley and on the Renon. The Silvaner presents fresh and fruity,
delicate and elegant.

Pinot Blanc – or Pinot Bianco in Italian – was introduced to Alto Adige by Archduke John of Austria around 1850. It does best on sites with dry, loamy and calcareous soils and pronounced diurnal temperature variations.

This cuvée of Lagrein and Merlot combines fruit and structure, tannins and elegance. The name of the wine is the Latin form of San Maurizio, a village near Gries whose warm soils are the key to this wine.

from yield-controlled vines on the best sites are used to produce the Prestige Grieser Lagrein Riserva. The wine is an impenetrable garnet in color, offers superb aromas on the nose and has a persistent harmonious aftertaste.

The legendary Bozen porphyry was formed from a mixture volcanic laven. The organic wine Laven stands as a cuvée for this successful combination of different elements. In its biological naturalness, it is reminiscent of the origins of Bolzano and at the same time it is completely contemporary.
