Nose

The bouquet is highly complex and reminiscent of yellow peaches, old pear varieties and cantaloupe.

Palate

The elevation and the porous dolomite soil result in an elegant, structured wine. Owing to the lengthy period of ripening, PENON develops a meaty mineral structure in addition to its dense body and invigorating acidity.

Kurtatsch - Penon, 450-700 m a.sl.east, slope; Great day/night temperature difference; Loamy, sandy and gravelly soil rich in dolomite.

Harvest

The grapes are harvested by hand.

Winemaking

Fermentation 80% at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, 20% in old French barriques without malolactic fermentation - ageing on the fine lees in large oak barrels for 12 months
