Founded in 1928, the Peter Zemmer winery is located in the middle of the Alto Adige lowlands, where viticulture has been deeply rooted for many generations. The estate's vineyards, planted up to 1000 metres above sea level (Vigna Kofl), extend around the village of Cortina s.s.d.v. The winery, which is powered entirely by renewable energy sources, produces a wide and interesting assortment of wines from both native and international grape varieties, offered in different lines. The white Burgundy varieties have always had a decisive influence on Peter Zemmer's assortment. In addition to the Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Crivelli, the Pinot Grigio Riserva Giatl, the only Riserva of this grape variety in Alto Adige, is now firmly established in the top segment of high-quality white wines.

This wine, full of character, comes from selected individual vineyards stocked with vines grafted to slow growing rootstock and trained on wire trellises (Guyot). The extraordinary quality of our Riserva stems from grapes grown under the best conditions on the loamy soils in the community of Ora with tender care of the vineyards. 

The Pinot Grigio is a selection of the best vineyards of the valley floor  and steep slopes near the vineyard estate. It flourishes under outstanding climatic conditions on a stony, sandy and extremely chalky soil. The poor yield per hectare and the particular terroir are responsible for the outstanding quality of the wine. The fascinating interplay between tradition and innovation, man and the surroundings, sense and sensuality finds expression in the passion and sensitivity with which Peter Zemmer brings this wine to life. 

This varietal grows on the traditional trellis system, the pergola, on the gently warmed loamy soils of the beautiful slopes around Cortaccia. The area offers the basis for a product of outstanding quality.

The favourable location of the vineyards, ideal sunshine, and the good ventilation of the berries assures the excellent quality of the grapes of this varietal.

This varietal, unique to Alto Adige, finds excellent growing conditions on the calcareous soils in the vicinity of the winery. The extraordinary location and tender care of the vineyard offer the best conditions for the production of varietal and extraordinary quality. 

This Pinot Bianco is a selection of the best vineyards of the valley floor and steep slopes near the vineyard estate. It flourishes under outstanding climatic conditions on a stony, sandy and extremely chalky soil. The poor yield per hectare and the particular terroir are responsible for the outstanding quality of the wine. The fascinating interplay between tradition and innovation, man and the surroundings, sense and sensuality finds expression in the passion and sensitivity with which Peter Zemmer brings this wine to life. 

Grafted to slow-growing rootstock and trained on traditional wire trellises (Guyot), this Sauvignon flourishes at an elevation of 450 m. (1,500 ft.) in Pochi di Salorno. The favorable location of the vineyards, the very low yield, and the warm days and cool nights provide the ideal basis for the ripening of the grapes. 

This Pinot Noir flourishes in the cultivated vineyards in the immediate vicinity of the winery at an elevation of 450 m. (1,400 ft.). These hills, a conglomerate of particular soils of loam and chalk and the very well-suited climate, form the ideal basis for producing a Pinot Noir of highest quality. 

Sparkling

The grapes of this special cuvée flourish at an elevation of 450 meters (1,500 feet) above sea level. The favourable location of the vineyards at Pochi, ideal sunshine, and the good ventilation of the berries give the grapes of this varietal an excellent acidity to sugar ration.

The name chosen for this geographical unit derives from the historical name "Buchholz" for the valley slopes above Salorno in the lowlands of Alto Adige, which is already documented in the historical cartography of the cadastre of 1858. 

This wine, full of character, comes from selected vineyards in this terraced area of dolomite sedimentary rock at an altitude of 400 to 800 metres above sea level (1.300 to 2.600 feet). Buchholz represents a very heterogeneous wine-growing area whose morphological and soil-climatic diversity guarantees a special location for the cultivation of the Chardonnay variety. The climatic conditions are characteristic of this region. The temperature in the higher areas is about 6 °C (43 °F) lower than in the areas at the bottom of the valley. From April to October there are constant air movements of two land winds blowing at certain times of the day: a warmer afternoon wind from the south ("Ora") and a cool breeze in the morning hours from the north.	


This wine, full of character, comes from the selected vineyard of the Vigna Crivelli in the location Punggl. In this very individual vineyard, the vines are grafted to slow-growing rootstock and trained on traditional wire trellises (Guyot). This extraordinary Chardonnay flourishes under outstanding climatic conditions on a stony, sandy and extremely chalky soil in the best vineyard zone of Magrè s.s.d.v. In the Vigna Crivelli, the ideal microclimate with wide ranging differences of day and night temperatures is additionally influenced by strong winds, deriving from Favogna. The favourable location of the vineyards, ideal sunshine, and the good ventilation of the berries assures the excellent quality of the grapes of this outstanding varietal. 

This Pinot Noir Riserva flourishes at the remarkable altitude of 1.030 meters above sea level (3.380 ft.) in the immediate vicinity of the farm Koflhof in Aldino, in the lowlands of Alto Adige. The perfect southern position of the vineyard on porphyry and dolomite limestone, the ideal solar radiation as well as the daily wind “Ora” from the south guarantee the optimal ripening conditions of the berries.

The favourable location of the vineyards, ideal sunshine, and the good ventilation of the berries develop the best sides of the character of this varietal. 

This Müller Thurgau grows at an elevation of 800 m. (2,500 ft.) on well-arranged terraced slopes of the Lowlands. The favourable altitude of the vineyards on limestone soils, the gentle slope of the hillside, and ideal sunshine give the grapes of this varietal an excellent maturation.

White Blend

Our Pinot Grigio Riserva Giatl comes from selected individual vineyards in the location Giatl, stocked with vines grafted to slow growing rootstock and trained on wire trellises (Guyot). This extraordinary Pinot Grigio flourishes under outstanding cool mountain climatic conditions on a stony, sandy and extremely chalky soil that is very conducive to this Burgundy variety and creates a very fine and storable white wine. The Pinot Grigio Riserva Giatl is mainly aged in large wooden barrels, rests for a long time on the fine yeast and gains in complexity and density. This wine becomes a special experience even after several years of aging. Finally, our Pinot Grigio Riserva Giatl is the only Riserva wine of this grape variety in Alto Adige. It is a uniqueness that makes this Burgundy variety increasingly exciting. 



This wine full of character comes from selected vineyards in the southern part of the Punggl site, planted with vines that are grafted onto low-growing rootstock and trained on wire frames (Guyot). With loving care of the vineyard, the exceptional quality of our Riserva grows under the best conditions on alluvial soil of fine sand with silt and clay deposits in the municipality of Magrè. The climatic conditions are characteristic of the warm valley floor of the lowlands of Alto Adige. From April to October, however, there are constant air movements during the day, which are regulated by thermal land winds. Their special feature is that they blow at certain times of the day: a warmer afternoon wind from the south ("Ora") and a cool breeze in the morning hours from the north. 

This Pinot Noir grows in selected single vineyards in the Pinzon (Pinzano) area at an altitude of around 550 meters above sea level (1.800 ft.) in the lowlands of Alto Adige. This fine wine grows under ideal conditions on porphyry soil flanked by dolomitic carbonate minerals. The climatic conditions are determined by the altitude of the area above the Adige plain and the north-westerly orientation, which extends the evening sun. The onshore winds blow regularly at different times of the day. The "Ora" in particular, which rises up the Adige Valley from the south and caresses the valley slopes, is still strong enough in the afternoon hours to ventilate the vineyards and regulate the humidity.
