Growing Conditions

The Merlot grapes are cultivated in a natural way with great diligence, passion and love. The vineyards are located in the wine village S. Maddalena near Bolzano at an altitude of about 300 m above sea level and have a gravelly moraine soil. The vine stocks are grown according to the guyot-system. Due to the situation on the steep slopes a high amount of manual labour is needed.

Harvest

The Merlot grapes are picked rather late at the end of October by hand.

Winemaking

The grapes are crushed and fermented in a controlled manner in steel tanks. The new wine is matured in small oak barrels for two years and bottled afterwards.
