Multifaceted, full-bodied mouthfeel with alpine freshness, a strong presence and incomparable elegance. Long and complex in the finish with great finesse.

Growing Conditions

Caldaro, Seehof, Nussleiten: 230m above sea level
deep, humus-rich, sandy clay soil on calcareous gravel in the immediate vicinity of Caldaro Lake

Harvest

Manual harvest and selection of the grapes from the "Nussleiten" vineyard.

Winemaking

Destemming and mash fermentation under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation followed by 18 months of ageing in new barriques.

Aging

Assemblage 2 to 3 months before bottling, and at least another 12 months of ageing in the bottle.

Appearance

Dark ruby red colour.

Food Pairing

Ideal with dishes with mushrooms and truffle, spicy roasted meat, lamb and game dishes, mature cheese, dark chocolate.
