Growing Conditions

The vineyards extend around Lake Kaltern, mainly in south-eastern locations. The soil consists of loamy-sandy limestone gravel and the microclimate is characterized by the warm lake weather.

Winemaking

Vinification begins with a one-week maceration at a controlled temperature of 24 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation. This is followed by 6 months of ageing on the fine lees, both in stainless steel and in concrete tanks.

Food Pairing

The Leuchtenberg Kalterersee is perfect for relaxed moments, such as a snack of speck and cheese. It pairs well with starters and typical Alto Adige dishes, such as cheese dumplings. It is also an excellent accompaniment to poultry dishes. Important: Always enjoy Kalterersee slightly chilled.
