The unique geological and geographical conditions in the hamlet of Penon at 600 m a.s.l. give occasion to the production of an incomparable sparkling wine with distinctive terroir characteristics. In 2014, the first "600" vintage was produced. The hand-picked Chardonnay grapes stem only from old vines. After bottle fermentation, the sparkling wine matures for 55 months on the lees. In the glass: stable and fine perlage. Fruity nuances of white peach and yellow exotic fruits, some quince, spiced bread and brioche. Creamy and yet taut texture, mineral and salty in the finish.
Every bottle is unique; every mouthful a delight. The Brut Riserva 36 sparkling wine stems from a great cuvée of the French varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. This vintage sparkling wine is produced in accordance with the elaborate traditional method, known as the “metodo classico”. The grapes for this come from a few, selected vineyards in the Meraner Land region, which when blended allow a unique, fresh and fruity aroma to unfold. However, the Brut Riserva 36 sparkling wine only becomes a genuine masterpiece in connection with its fine perlage and the pleasing notes of yeast that develop during the elaborate bottle fermentation followed by 36 months of storage on fine lees. A complex bouquet of bread crust, yeast, vanilla and ripe fruit comes together, in an elegant, light bottle, with minerality, vibrant acidity and a fine, long-lasting perlage.
Our Weißburgunder Sekt is a Brut Nature blanc de blanc sparkling wine with a high, but well integrated acidity. Its flavor reminds of Golden Delicious Apples and fresh squeezed lemons.
Life is meant to be celebrated! For four years the wine made from grapes from our highest vineyards rests of the fine lees – ample time to enjoy the pleasures of anticipating this sparkling delight.
It is a great sparkling wine, with a brilliant colour and an immediate feeling of clarity, in which fruity and citrus notes are harmoniously combined with a certain minerality. The taste is elegant and refined, supported by a freshness that gives him great persistence.
Moscato Giallo is one of Italy’s indigenous grape varieties. It’s fruity with a lively acidity. From our Moscato Giallo grapes we produce our own sparkling wine “Cato”. With very little residual sugar, “Cato” is classified as brut and produced according to the traditional method - a rarity worth trying!
The grapes of this special cuvée flourish at an elevation of 450 meters (1,500 feet) above sea level. The favourable location of the vineyards at Pochi, ideal sunshine, and the good ventilation of the berries give the grapes of this varietal an excellent acidity to sugar ration.
