Weingut Sonnleiten

Winemaking is a great passion of mine and I have always been winegrowing and making wine, whether at home with my parents, with my grandparents or at the Falserhof, wherever my heart took me. Why should the resulting wine only taste good to us and not to others? That was the initial question that led to what I do today: I am a winemaker with my own vineyard and my own winery. Studying agriculture in Bolzano and Vienna is the basis for working in the vineyard and in the cellar. Nevertheless, there is still a lot that is new to me, which makes it particularly exciting.

My winery is not just any winery, but one in a prime location on the southeast slope of the St. Magdalener hill near Bolzano in beautiful South Tyrol. During the day, the sun warms the soil and caresses the ripening grapes. In the evening, a pleasant Dolomite breeze comes to us from the Rosengarten and refines the character of the wine.
