Cora Hof

A brief history

At the age of 50, Lorenz San Nicolò, geologist and entrepreneur, chucked his geologist's hammer and his company in Milan in and plunged into a wine adventure - as an autodidact, supported by a few congenial winegrowers and encouraged by his wife Elisabeth ("Sissi") and his six daughters.

The Cora Hof is a small winery, located directly on the South Tyrolean Wine Road (strade del vino), near the wine village of Sankt Pauls. The warmest vineyard around the farm is filled with Merlot - the Goldmuskateller (Mosacto Giallo) grows on a slightly cooler part. In 2019 the winery was enlarged and planted with Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blank, and Petit Manseng.

The wine cellar is equipped with the most modern cellar technology which enables a clean and gentle processing of the valuable grapes. It was designed in a modern yet traditional style by architect Ute Oberrauch. The sensitive combination of traditional and modern, rural and urban elements have created a central location for the entire family.
Under a splendid Art Nouveau chandelier from the estate of a former luxury hotel in Merano, tractors and machines are stored, a workshop is operated and parties, balls and weddings of the six daughters are celebrated. The chandelier is symbolizes the winemaker families' fondness of elegance, festivity and joy of the buoyancy of life.
