Castel Englar Winery

A grandiose wine that matches its famous model from Burgundy. The 15-month ageing in small oak barrels on the lees and the long bottle ageing give our Pinot Noir Riserva a smooth and creamy body with harmonious length.

The grapes for our sweet vine remain on the vineyards until around Christmas and dry slowly in the winter sun, wetted by the autumn mist and the first snow. The slow fermentation over months results in a spicy-exotic bouquet. The Passito is very fruity with a fine melt and delicate acidity.

The red leading variety of our vinery brings excellent results on the chalky soils and the cool location. The Pinot Noir Classic is a round and harmonious wine, easy to drink with fine aromas.

Our Pinot Blanc BERG is a wonderful all-rounder, fresh and invigorating with a delicate fragrance; a delicate summer wine with charm. The Pinot Blanc is the typical and most important white wine in our region.

Due to its aromatic note, the popularity of Sauvignon Blanc is growing. The airy sites of our vineyard produce a filigree wine.

Our Riesling is very stylish, an elegant wine with mineral freshness and invigorating acidity.

The old vineyards of this variety are located in our warmest position. The fullness and power of this wine is revealed when it is matured in large oak barrels. Our Chardonnay is powerful with a fine creamy structure and has the potential for special longevity.

This is the red wine of our homeland, as it is loved. It surprises with subtle finesse and silky tannins and is spicy and elegant. A fresh and drinkable red wine that is fun to drink. We give our Vernatsch a lot of time and let it ferment slowly in large open wooden barrels, following one year in oak barrels.

This is our latest creation. An animating dry Cuveè with summery drinking pleasure through pronounced fruit and freshness.

The Orange is the powerful variant of our Gewürztraminer. It smells beguilingly of tropical fruits with a hint of oriental spice. The pink berry skins are reflected in the wine.

The grapes for our Pinot Blanc Riserva are from the best location and old vineyard and mature in large oak barrels. The result is a powerful and lively top-class wine. Pinot Blanc is the typical and most important white wine for the region of South Tyrol.
