Nose

Palate
Clear and delicate fruit. Long, silky finish, soft acidity and velvety fullness.
Growing Conditions
The 80-year-old Lagrein vines grow on scree near the Trudener river in Vill, near Neumarkt, at 250 metres above sea level.
Winemaking
The grapes ferment in 25-hectolitre oak barrels with about two weeks maceration and then acid reduction.
Aging
The Lagrein Alte Rebe ages for one year in 500 litre and 700 litre oak barrels.
Appearance
Dense, dark ruby red

Ideal with hearty meat dishes, sausage specialities and mature cheese.
